Duties and Responsibilities
A registered dietitian collaborates
with providers to identify and connect with patients in need of Nutrition
counseling. They also establishes treatment plans and communicates with
patients regarding
program compliance. A dietitian might have to meet directly with
patients to identify educational needs; provide individual instruction, utilize
informational handouts/booklets, or refer to community
Resources as needed. Lastly they participates in quality improvement
of the program in conjunction with other services offered.
Salary
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field required. Must have
R.D. registration and be eligible for Washington State certification.
Certified as a Diabetes Educator helpful. Excellent oral and written communications
skills required. Basic computer skills required.
Reflection
NO I would not like to become a registered dietitian because I’m not
looking forward to studying about it. Simply not my thing.
