Basketball –Kindness

The fact that the basketball coach let the kid play was really kind even though he knew they were going to lose. But he just wanted the kid to feel happy and get to experience what his teammates would go through in every game. So when they were playing every time they would pass him the ball he wouldn’t score but at the end …….A very unexpected thing happened a kid from the other team passed him the ball and he got to make a shot. At the end both teams ended up winning to if you’re kind  good things happen to you .

 Reflection

I agree because if you’re kind to everyone you’re going to make a difference and you’re also going to feel good about yourself. Most likely they are going to be kind to you as well.
Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day when friends and families get together for a special meal. That at times includes turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have and give thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada. Thanksgiving has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, and has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well.
Thanksgiving is a particularly American holiday; they also celebrate it in Canada. Native People of North America have held ceremonies to give thanks for successful harvests, for the hope of a good growing season in the early spring, and for other good fortune such as the birth of a child. Giving thanks was, and still is, the primary reason for ceremonies or celebrations.

As with Native traditions in America, celebrations - complete with merrymaking and feasting - in England and throughout Europe after a successful crop are as ancient as the harvest-time itself. In 1621, when their labors were rewarded with a bountiful harvest after a year of sickness and scarcity, the Pilgrims gave thanks to God and celebrated His bounty in the Harvest Home tradition with feasting and sport (recreation). To these people of strong Christian faith, this was not merely a revel; it was also a joyous outpouring of gratitude.

Reflection
Thanksgiving Day is the only day people actually stop and realize that they should be thankful for what they have. I’m not talking in general because some people do it daily they thank God for their lives and food and everything they have .So for me that’s an important day not only because we give thanks for what we have but at times that’s the only day or week you could actually spend time with your family members and be happy and have a little reunion. But you also have to have in consideration that there’s some other people in other parts of the world that wish to have what you have for example; food, shelter, and most important love .So you should keep that in mind and appreciate what you have even though it’s not what you want but at least you have the basics and if you don’t appreciate it there’s thousands of other people that would.  I’m thankful for so many things and God knows I always thank him for them. Mainly for my family them being healthy and me being able to live with them. For having and education and being healthy myself.

“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true don't say it”
       By: Marcus Aurelius

Reflection

What I think about this quote is that when you say a lie knowing it is not true then you're going to be CTW so that’s when you have to stop and realized that it is wrong and not do it. I definitely agree with this quote because why would you say something knowing it is not true that’s how rumors are made and you’re going to live with that guiltiness your whole life so I guarantee you if you CTR you're going to know whether you’re going to say something false its right or wrong.
Dental Assistant

The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Although state regulations vary, responsibilities may include helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery. Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment. Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies) dental assistants are more concerned with preparation of the patient, equipment, and instruments. In addition to readying the patient for treatment, the dental assistant may also process x-rays, apply topical anesthetic, and insert or remove equipment or materials from the patient’s mouth as needed. Dental assistants also assist dentists during procedures or surgery, by handing them instruments, or applying suction or rinse.
Salary
The pay scale for dental assistants ranges from about $23,550 to $47,580. In 2012, the average pay for dental assistants was $35,080 and the median pay was $34,500. Those with the highest salaries live in the metropolitan areas of San Francisco, Nashua, N.H., and Haverhill, Mass.
Education
It takes a relatively short period of time to become a dental assistant. Dental assistants receive their formal education through academic programs at community colleges, vocational schools, technical institutes, universities or dental schools. Graduates of these programs usually receive certificates. Although the majority of academic dental assisting programs take nine to eleven months to complete, some schools offer accelerated training, part-time education programs or training via distance education.

Reflection

No I would not like to a dental assistant because I’m not interested in that career. Also because I want to be someone in life and make my parents proud and by me becoming a doctor assistant would make them proud but it’s not my thing.

“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today”
         By: James Freeman Clark

Reflection

Yes I agree with this quote because if you are doing something wrong now you might think its right but deep down you know that whatever you did is going to haunt you forever. When the time comes you’re going to regret it.
Veterans Day
Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.  Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day–a common misunderstanding, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Memorial Day (the fourth Monday in May) honors American service members who died in service to their country or as a result of injuries incurred during battle, while Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans–living or dead–but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.

Reflection:

Well first of all I want to thank all those men and women who have and are serving our country thanks to them and god were safe. They are our heroes their brave enough to risks their own life to save their families and ours. Just if you put yourself in their shoes it really hard knows that every single day you wake up you have an opportunity to die and to not see your family ever again. Also the fact that they have to be killing other human beings is horrendous but that’s sadly how this world is. Hopefully one day we would live peacefully and people won’t have to sacrifice their own lives to safe ours. But either way in my head doesn’t make sense how your own specie could be killing each other. But at the same time it does. So it is what it is, and in this case us that aren’t doing what they are doing have to be thankful and do as much possible to honor them.

“Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or losing.”
By: Chick Moorman

Reflection

First of all what I think about this quote is that it true, you might be asking yourself why well put it this way. When you win something and you know you cheated or you obtain that win by playing dirty you're going to feel guilty and sooner or later they are going to find out what they did. So if you Chose the Right and played fairly and with honesty you're going to feel good, proud of yourself whether you lost or won. So I agree with this Beautiful quote.

Reflection

I can make a connection with this quote.I always do my homework and (it actually happened a couple of weeks ago) everyone was asking me to let them copy it because our teacher had told us "Whoever doesn't do it would have to stand up for a whole week”. Well I knew better than ,I knew I shouldn't let them copy so I had the courage to say NO even though they were my friends. So I did the right thing because I knew it was right.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
            Proverbs 13:20

Reflection

Yes this proverb is very true especially because it came from the bible. If I put this in my own words it means that is all about who you want to be and who your being with, because if you hang out with people that act cool and ditch school almost every day its most likely you’re going to do the same as they are and choose the wrong all the time. But in the other hand if you hang out with your classmate’s that have chosen to be a  CTR person of course you’re going to follow they pathway and do the same it’s all about with who you want to hang out

Also because I believe that’s not my thing, the career I’m looking forward to
