“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong”

                         By: Abraham Lincoln
Reflection:

I would certain like to have a friend with that mentality because his obvious a good friend. For example the last part of this quote were he states that he would not only stand with him when his right but also when he is wrong. Meaning he knows that not everyone is perfect and if someone is a CTR person probably in the future he would make some mistakes but that doesn't mean that he would leave him to deal with it by himself he would be right there next to him just like he was when he did what was right. Another example of this   quote is if you don’t win at something but you played fairly and with sportsmanship then it’s better to have that feeling the feeling of being true to yourself and everyone around you. Why win? If you cheated and played dirty that sensation that you won won’t last long keep that in mind! So do what’s right and good things would come in handy when needed.
April Fool’s Day

April fool’s day is on April the first. There's some uncertainty about when and where this bizarre tradition began, but the most accepted explanation traces April Fools' Day back to  the 16th Century when the French New Year was moved from April the 1st to January 1st in accordance with the Catholic Calendar. As word spread slowly about the change, people who continued to celebrate the New Year on the wrong date, this being April 1st were called fools and had tricks played on them. Now days it appears to serve little purpose yet to have some fun, and in some cases cause national confusion. It's probably no coincidence that April Fools' Day is celebrated at the same time that two other similar holidays are celebrated. In ancient Rome, the festival of Hilaria was thrown to celebrate the resurrection of the god Attis. Hilaria is probably the base word for hilarity and hilarious, which mean great merriment. Today, Hilaria is also known as Roman Laughing Day. In India, the Holi festival celebrates the arrival of spring. As a part of that festival, people play jokes and smear colors on each other.

“Character is higher than intellect”

By: Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflection

I definitely agree with this statement from Ralph because honestly character meaning the way you live your life and the choices you make are more important than how smart you are. For example you’re a straight A’s student but you don’t have character you are totally going to fail in life because the choices you are going to make are going to reflect your character and if you don’t have character your most likely to choice the bad choices.

“I Trust that my hard work will pay off”
     By: Tyler Haws

Reflection

Well to begin with I think the videos I watched were really inspiring. The reason why is because they made me see things in a different perspective for example for him it was really divested to know that he didn't make it to the basketball team. So he decided to work hard because he knew what he wanted he knew he wanted to play basketball and you can straight out tell he wasn't gifted it wasn't his natural talent so he overcame it and now he is in the top. I think what also pushed him a little was the fact that his father was willing to spend two hours to practice with him during the summer. His faith in god is unexplainable because he knows his the best basketball player but instead he decided to go serve his mission he chose god over his favorite thing to do. I see him as my idol because he believes in god and also worked hard to achieve his goal and I guess that’s what I would want to do in the future not only focus in my goal but also serve God. Just like trusted that hard work would pay of he also had the perseverance to do it.
Zoologists
Duties and Responsibilities
Zoologists are life scientists who study animals, observing them in the laboratory and in their natural habitat. They study the origin and development of species as well as their habits, behaviors and interactions. Monitoring wildlife health and creating recovery plans and communicating with the public by conducting field trips to point out scientific, historic and natural features of a park.
Salary
The average salary range for a zoologist in the initial stages of his or her career is $30,000 to $45,000 per year. After five years of work experience, the range is $40,000 to $55,000 per year. After 10 years of work experience, the range is $45,000 to $65,000 per year. For senior zoologists (20 or more years of work experience), salary range is $55,000 to $80,000 per year.
Education
Zoology scientists who want to conduct independent research and make contributions to the zoo logic field of knowledge should aim for a Ph.D. This will enable them to research in a variety of settings, including academia. Alternatively, a master's degree in zoology or a related specialization is competitive for many government jobs. Some students earn both an M.S. and Ph.D., one after the other. Still others begin work with only a bachelor's degree, though doing so can constrict a bachelor's career options compared to a research-capable zoologist with a graduate education.

Reflection

I would really love to become a zoologist because I love animals and the fact that I would have the opportunity to go outside and explore their habitats it’s nice. Also because I don’t like being indoors it makes me feel suffocated like I’m not living the precious life God has provided me with. Since I love math even though today I took a test and I would most likely fail because I did everything wrong and had to erase everything and start all over and didn’t have enough time to finish it its really disappointing but it’s okay I won’t fail the whole class because I still have an A but I hope it doesn't go down to a B or C. I would just have to learn from my mistakes. I’m off topic but yes I think I could put my biology skills and math together to work in this career I think I would like to study. Life has no limits set your imagination free, dream big because big dreams make a men’s mind do big things-Bryan Tracy. All those quotes always inspired me that if I want to become something I will, probably I’m nothing right now but in the future I want to make a change to this society I don’t know how but I know I will.

Human Activity Is Leading to ‘A Major Extinction Event’ for Sea Life

According to a new study the world’s oceans may be at risk of extinction. Dr. Douglas J. McCauley, one of Pinsky’s colleagues and lead author of the new study, the world’s oceans are still mostly intact, at least compared to the situation on land. If overfishing, excessive pollution and other harmful factors were to be dramatically cut back today; the oceans could almost completely revert back to what they were before humans started destroying them. The ability of large trawlers to sweep the seas for fish and shellfish, for instance, has increased yields but at the same time depleted many areas of sea life. In my opinion humans are not grateful enough to protect our oceans and realize that were are the cause of all animal extinction. We if don’t do anything to stop we are going to regret what we have done later on. The sad thing is that we are not only harming the animals that live in the ocean but also in land for example the black rhino. The mountain gorillas are also become extinct because our fault for example they can die from the common cold. Inside gorilla’s habitat, in Virunga National Park, people harvest charcoal for use as a fuel source in cooking and heating. This charcoal production, an illegal and multi-million dollar industry, has destroyed gorilla habitat. In conclusion I think we can do different positive things to help these creatures live longer and not die fast because of us.

Careers in Different Countries
Canoe/Kayak instructor: France is home to an amazing number of beautiful rivers, so if it’s water sports that float your boat, then there should be opportunities for you.
Russia’s oil and gas sector: The country’s largest foreign investors.
Chef at the Australian Residence: The Australian Ambassador in Moscow is seeking a full time restaurant-trained Chef skilled in both European and Asian cuisine.
Business Engineer: If you would want to join any business careers then China is the place you are looking for because basically China is the place where they make and sell.
Reflection:
Yes I think I would love to work in a different country rather than California because I think it would be really fun and I would meet new people and live in a different environment. Also because I like to explore and that means working in a different country then I’ll go for it. If God gives me the opportunity to work in another country then I would probably go to Spain, Hawaii, or London. The reason why is because I like how to speak and I would love to taste different foods and go different places.

“True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.”

                            By: Brigham Young
Reflection:

If you do what’s right then you’re going to do everything in the right way meaning if you want independence then first you need to learn and do what’s right then you can be independent and do everything your way. Freedom everyone is free but if we’re talking about being free in the from you don’t need your parents approval for every little thing you do. Well your parents need to know you’re smart and responsible enough to take care of yourself and always do what’s right. For example you’re always stealing from your parents and you expect from them to give you freedom to let you do whatever you want well you’re wrong. You need to show your parents’ you’re a good person so they could let you be independent and have a little more freedom then usual.
St. Patrick’s Day

Saint Patrick was a 5th-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. The purpose of St. Patrick’s Day is to celebrate the Roman Catholic feast day of the patron saint of Ireland .St. Patrick’s Day is designated every March the 17 because that’s day St. Patrick died. St. Patrick’s Day is green because green is one of the three colors in the Irish flag.  Also its lush, green landscape, Ireland is known as the "Emerald Isle. If you don't wear green on St. Patrick's Day, prepare to be pinched. But only if you're in the United States. This is an American tradition that is traced to the 1700s. An old Irish legend has it that those who wear green are invisible to leprechauns, those fairy creatures that randomly pinch people no matter what color they're wearing. So folks started pinching anyone who didn't wear green as a reminder of the leprechauns and their sneaky ways.

Olivet Middle School

Wow, that video left me wordless it’s clearly the nicest and cutest thing ever. The fact that someone well actually a team came up with that idea is really touching but it was more when I saw Keith make a touchdown.  I think that this story or video has a lesson like think treat others the way you would to be treated. Like they knew Keith would never have the opportunity to score a touch down but because they planned it so he could and to make his day they obviously treated him really nice just like they would want to be treated. When you’re in Middle School or High School you’re teenagers and all you care is about being popular and being “cool” and they gave him the opportunity to feel that way because now everyone was going to treat him like a cool kid like those popular athletes. Another lesson I learned from watching this video is be nice to everyone because even though Keith wasn’t like everyone else they treated him like he was and they didn’t exclude him from the team like make him feel left out. In the other hand they did everything for Keith to feel like part of the team. When i seen Justice cried it actually showed that everything he and his team were doing was coming from his heart, they didn't do it to get attention from the other classmates NO, they did it to make Keith day to make him feel special.

“They are only truly great who are truly good.”

By: George Chapman
Reflection

Yes, George Chapman is totally right, you can’t be good if you are not great and you can’t be great if you are not truly good. For example you are chosen to be the leader of a group you did everything right and did all your work but you copied everything from the internet you cheated but probably you thought it was okay when  it wasn't so you did good by trying to do your work but you copied everything so you aren't truly good nor great.

“Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn’t. In addition using steroids is cheating and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don’t do it.”

By: George Mitchell, senate Majority Leader, presidential Medal of Freedom, Disney Chairman of the Board.
Reflection:

I think that it’s up to you whether you chose to do the right or in the other hand wrong. But there are a lot of people that encourage you to do what’s right so you won’t have to suffer the cause of all your bad choices you’ve made. For example George Mitchell his clearly telling you not to do STEROIDS because you are going to be labeled as a cheater and you would have to face with it your whole life. Probably it would give you some popularity or money; whatever the reason why you decide to cheat but at the end you’re going to face a lot of bad consequences to your actions.

“I won’t cheat”

By: Dale Murphy
Reflection

This three simply words can change your life forever meaning if you make a commitment to yourself and say you won’t even think of cheating it’s going to change your entire life. Some people think it’s okay to cheat when it’s not, there’s trillions of reasons why cheating is something you should think twice before doing them. Firstly because if you cheat you’re going to CTW and that is going to lead you to failure doing what’s wrong makes your life worthless because you do everything with unfairness and in a dishonest way. If you cheat at school you’re defiantly going to fail that class, not only that but now you’re going to be labeled as a cheater. Everywhere you go they are going to know you are a major cheater. So make a promise to yourself and do what’s right.

Oncology specialists collect medical histories and perform physical evaluations in addition to basic administrative duties, such as maintaining records, coordinating with other medical personnel, and managing the work of staff. They also perform a wide variety of diagnostic procedures to ascertain the condition of tissues and to detect cancer. Diagnostic procedures include scanning techniques, such as x-ray and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as surgical operations and biopsies. Treatment options include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and the surgical removal of cancer. Oncology professionals may also perform procedures to treat regions of the body affected by cancer treatment. For instance, a gynecologic oncologist may perform surgery to a patient's gastrointestinal tract that has been adversely affected by treatment.
Salary
The median salary for an Oncologist is approximately $217,856
Education
As physicians, oncology specialists must complete up to eight years of undergraduate and medical school education. They then train in a medical residency that can last 3-5 years depending on the specialty. Those pursing sub specialty training may also be required to complete an additional residency or fellowship of up to three years. Following training, all physicians must pass a licensing exam before they are able to practice. Completion of training often qualifies oncology specialists for voluntary certification, which typically involves a set of written and oral exams and a performance review.

Reflection
I would definitely love to become an Oncologists but I think I would have to study a lot. For example five years of school plus another four. I think I wouldn’t have enough money to pay all of that. But looking at the good side I would like to become that because I love helping people and specially people that have cancer. I think I would feel proud of myself knowing I helped save people’s lives.

            “Character Matters Most”

                       By: Dale Murphy
Reflection:

First of all I’m a fan of Dale Murphy and I certainly agree with him because Character is what truly matters. He fact that you are a human being and you know the difference between right and wrong most say something about yourself. For example if you want to be a good person you have to begin with building up your character so you can become a good human being with imperfections but a perfect character. I think the fact that his famous and he doesn't care about the popularity he gained he still manages to make a good person out of himself.
Heliotherapy
Heliotherapy consists of exposure to daylight or to specific wavelengths of light using polychromatic polarized light, lasers, light-emitting diodes, fluorescent lamps, dichroic lamps or very bright, full-spectrum light. The light is administered for a prescribed amount of time and, in some cases, at a specific time of day. Light therapy is thought to affect brain chemicals linked to mood, easing SAD symptoms. Using a light therapy box may also help with other types of depression, sleep disorders and other conditions. Light therapy is also known as bright light therapy or phototherapy. Heliotherapy was indeed considered to be the most successful treatment for infectious diseases from the late 19th to the mid-20th century.

Mitch a 15 year old boy state champion loved his father so much that he was determined to practice every day even if there wasn't practice to be able to make it to the finals and he did. He did it because he knew probably his father wasn't going to be there next year to watch him win. When I put myself in his shoes it makes me realizes how grateful I should be that my father is healthy also my mother I’m blessed to have both of them by my side. He thought by winning he was going to make his father proud he did made him proud but not only that he also made him really happy and he even said it himself he was really emotional he was full of joy. His father had cancer and Mitch just wanted for them to forget about it for a moment and enjoy the time they had and the reasons because for him to be just a freshman and win the state championship is an absolutely great thing. He is a role model for younger kids that think that nothing is possible but no there wrong everything is possible if you put the effort and time like he did.

“Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all”

**Benjamin Franklin
Refection

Most of us, humans believe that what truly matters is being beautiful having money and be famous. When we are all wrong we are in a world where we face racism, hate, jealousy, and judgments. But we all posse what truly matters something that exceeds all of those things which is our heart. We can all change the world and make it something better if we fill all those negative actions into positive ones. Franklin is trying to tell us that if you think being beautiful and having money is what truly matters, you are so wrong you are living in a world of fantasy.CTR people !
