Student Success Statement
“Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.”

Mr. Haymore

Reflection: I think this quote is trying to say that any action you do if its good or bad you always have to take responsibility.
Student Success Statement
“When I do good, I feel good.
When I do bad I feel bad”

By: Abraham Lincoln
Reflection

Well it’s obvious when you do good you’re going to feel good about it; proud of yourself because you decided to do something good. But when you decide to do bad you’re going to feel guilty and bad because usually your brain knows when you’re doing something bad and something good. But it’s up to you what you want to feel and good. For example if you decide to help your grandma with the grocery items then you’re going to feel good about yourself. But if you decide to just watch TV and see her struggling trying to handle all the bags then you’re going to feel bad.
Final: 3
Our topic of our presentation was Should Fast Food Restaurants be allowed to market to children? And our claim was NO they should not be allowed to market to children. First we gather information we found a lot. I was in charge of the graph since I was the one that was good at math. So I had to find graphs it was easy at first but when my math teacher told me it had to come from a reliable website that’s when it became a little harder but I was willing to put my best effort in to this project. We had to meet in McDonalds to do the PowerPoint when we were in Thanksgiving break and we kind of finish but when we came back and my teacher checked our work it was all wrong so basically we had to start all over and we were just a week away. Sadly 2 of out group members weren’t collaborating to do their work and to be honest it got me a little mad because at the end I had to type their paragraphs and theirs slide on the PowerPoint. At first I was like I should just let them get in trouble for not doing their part but I realized it was group and we were going to be scored as a group so I had to put my best effort to getting this project done. I came several times to your class room to type and finish the power point and in my opinion Mr. Haymore we were able to finish the end of the power point thanks to you being so kind and letting us print and borrow the computers so you also get credit. Thankfully we were almost done and Tuesday I think I just had to add pictures and the resources which I also did because my group members didn’t wanted to meet well we did but we didn’t have a computer so I decided to finish it. We had to rehearse on Tuesday but we didn’t have our PowerPoint finished so we just said what we had in our flashcards.  I was trying to memorize my part on Wednesday; that’s me leaving everything to the last minute. But on the weekend I had to go buy my clothes because my mom wanted me to look professional and I had to good clothes in my closet so we went and luckily found something. I really didn’t like it but at least I had something to put on. The big day had arrived and I was so nervous like always and I still remember searching up on google tips on how to not be nervous in a presentation. So we came out of school I went running to my house curled my hair and at the same time memorizing my part. It was time for me to leave the house and come to school I was going to meet my mom at school as well. Then 5:15 came and then one of my team members didn’t dress put and forgot her flashcards was so mad because it was obvious she didn’t care but at least she knew some of her information. We said our names and started with the presentation it was about to be my turn and I felt heart pumping 2000 heart beats per minute but I did better than I had thought because they said they liked my graph and it was very good. I was happy and relieved. Today I reserved my score and got a 3.

When you tell one lie it leads t another

                        Paul Hatch
When you tell one lie it leads to another     So you lie without even trying
So you tell two lies cover each other                 And each lie you tell will keep
Then you tell three lies and, Oh brother,                multiplying
You’re in trouble up to your ears!              ‘Till the whole wide world will know
So you tell four lies to try to protect you               you’re lying
Then you tell five lies so folks won’t suspect           Then you’ll be
                    You                                                               Suspected
Then you tell sic lies and you’ll collect                     Detected
A life filled with worries and fears                          Rejected
‘Cause you can’t remember how many lies          Neglected
                 You’ve told                                                Disliked
And half the things you say aren’t true                         And you should!
And sometimes you’ll slip up, you’ll trip u  When you lie, you’re closing the door
               And then                                                       on everything good.

ALWAYS SPEAK THE TRUTH
 Reflection

I surely agree with this quote from Paul Hatch because once you make up one lied you might have to come up with more to back up the first lied. So if you think you’re just going to get away with one lie think about it twice and you’re going to realized that’s just the beginning of a life full of lies you’re going to live with.

 The 3 questions
1.    Can people trust me to do what’s right?
2.     Am I committed to doing my very best?
3.    Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
À                   “If the answers to these questions are Yes, there is no way you can fail it.”

                        By: Lou Holtz
Reflection

I think that if you always try and do what you can and try your best to do what’s right for you then you just have to take full responsibility for your actions for example if you don’t treat people the way they would love to be treated than don’t expect for them to treat you different .You’re going to be treated just like you treat them. Also you want to be trustworthy for people to trust you and rely on you because there’s going to be times when you would need to trust someone and if you don’t have anyone you’re going to regret it.
Diagnostic Radiologist
Duties and Responsibilities
As a radiologist, you'll examine various types of images, including x-rays, computed tomography (CT) scans, mammograms, ultrasounds, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. You might operate the machinery used to collect these images, though this task is often delegated to radiology technologists. Radiologists also occasionally monitor imaging sessions run by radiologic technologists and technicians. Patients' primary doctors often consult with radiologists on results of imaging procedures. In such cases, you may be responsible for recommending courses of treatment or suggesting that additional images be taken. You may also administer nuclear medicine, oncology, or other radiation techniques to treat patients with illnesses or diseases. In addition, you'll perform many of the same duties as a general physician, such as examining patients, recording medical histories, and prescribing medications.
Salary
The annual salary of a diagnostic Radiologist is about 216,577.
Education
The first step in becoming a radiologist is to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Pre-medicine students may major in any subject but need to meet prerequisites in math, biology, organic and inorganic chemistry, physics and the humanities. Students can strengthen their medical school application by earning academic honors, volunteering, conducting scientific research and achieving high scores on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Many four-year colleges and universities have pre-med advisors who assist students in planning an appropriate program of study.

Next, aspiring radiologists move on to medical school. Because radiology is an extremely competitive specialty, candidates must excel academically in order to compete for available residencies. They will also benefit from top scores on Steps I and II of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).

Reflection

NO I would not like to become a radiologist because im not looking forward to becoming that but it sounds interesting.

Basketball –Kindness

The fact that the basketball coach let the kid play was really kind even though he knew they were going to lose. But he just wanted the kid to feel happy and get to experience what his teammates would go through in every game. So when they were playing every time they would pass him the ball he wouldn’t score but at the end …….A very unexpected thing happened a kid from the other team passed him the ball and he got to make a shot. At the end both teams ended up winning to if you’re kind  good things happen to you .

“Kindness is the essence of greatness”

 Reflection

I agree because if you’re kind to everyone you’re going to make a difference and you’re also going to feel good about yourself. Most likely they are going to be kind to you as well.
Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day when friends and families get together for a special meal. That at times includes turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have and give thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada. Thanksgiving has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, and has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well.
Thanksgiving is a particularly American holiday; they also celebrate it in Canada. Native People of North America have held ceremonies to give thanks for successful harvests, for the hope of a good growing season in the early spring, and for other good fortune such as the birth of a child. Giving thanks was, and still is, the primary reason for ceremonies or celebrations.

As with Native traditions in America, celebrations - complete with merrymaking and feasting - in England and throughout Europe after a successful crop are as ancient as the harvest-time itself. In 1621, when their labors were rewarded with a bountiful harvest after a year of sickness and scarcity, the Pilgrims gave thanks to God and celebrated His bounty in the Harvest Home tradition with feasting and sport (recreation). To these people of strong Christian faith, this was not merely a revel; it was also a joyous outpouring of gratitude.

Reflection
Thanksgiving Day is the only day people actually stop and realize that they should be thankful for what they have. I’m not talking in general because some people do it daily they thank God for their lives and food and everything they have .So for me that’s an important day not only because we give thanks for what we have but at times that’s the only day or week you could actually spend time with your family members and be happy and have a little reunion. But you also have to have in consideration that there’s some other people in other parts of the world that wish to have what you have for example; food, shelter, and most important love .So you should keep that in mind and appreciate what you have even though it’s not what you want but at least you have the basics and if you don’t appreciate it there’s thousands of other people that would.  I’m thankful for so many things and God knows I always thank him for them. Mainly for my family them being healthy and me being able to live with them. For having and education and being healthy myself.

Student Success Statement
“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true don't say it”
       By: Marcus Aurelius

Reflection

What I think about this quote is that when you say a lie knowing it is not true then you're going to be CTW so that’s when you have to stop and realized that it is wrong and not do it. I definitely agree with this quote because why would you say something knowing it is not true that’s how rumors are made and you’re going to live with that guiltiness your whole life so I guarantee you if you CTR you're going to know whether you’re going to say something false its right or wrong.
Dental Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities
The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Although state regulations vary, responsibilities may include helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery. Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment. Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies) dental assistants are more concerned with preparation of the patient, equipment, and instruments. In addition to readying the patient for treatment, the dental assistant may also process x-rays, apply topical anesthetic, and insert or remove equipment or materials from the patient’s mouth as needed. Dental assistants also assist dentists during procedures or surgery, by handing them instruments, or applying suction or rinse.
Salary
The pay scale for dental assistants ranges from about $23,550 to $47,580. In 2012, the average pay for dental assistants was $35,080 and the median pay was $34,500. Those with the highest salaries live in the metropolitan areas of San Francisco, Nashua, N.H., and Haverhill, Mass.
Education
It takes a relatively short period of time to become a dental assistant. Dental assistants receive their formal education through academic programs at community colleges, vocational schools, technical institutes, universities or dental schools. Graduates of these programs usually receive certificates. Although the majority of academic dental assisting programs take nine to eleven months to complete, some schools offer accelerated training, part-time education programs or training via distance education.

Reflection

No I would not like to a dental assistant because I’m not interested in that career. Also because I want to be someone in life and make my parents proud and by me becoming a doctor assistant would make them proud but it’s not my thing.

       Student Success Statement
“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today”
         By: James Freeman Clark

Reflection

Yes I agree with this quote because if you are doing something wrong now you might think its right but deep down you know that whatever you did is going to haunt you forever. When the time comes you’re going to regret it.
Veterans Day
Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.  Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day–a common misunderstanding, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Memorial Day (the fourth Monday in May) honors American service members who died in service to their country or as a result of injuries incurred during battle, while Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans–living or dead–but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.

Reflection:

Well first of all I want to thank all those men and women who have and are serving our country thanks to them and god were safe. They are our heroes their brave enough to risks their own life to save their families and ours. Just if you put yourself in their shoes it really hard knows that every single day you wake up you have an opportunity to die and to not see your family ever again. Also the fact that they have to be killing other human beings is horrendous but that’s sadly how this world is. Hopefully one day we would live peacefully and people won’t have to sacrifice their own lives to safe ours. But either way in my head doesn’t make sense how your own specie could be killing each other. But at the same time it does. So it is what it is, and in this case us that aren’t doing what they are doing have to be thankful and do as much possible to honor them.
